We operate from six strategically located auction centres in Chelmsford (Essex), Prees Heath (Shropshire) and Westbury (Wiltshire), our LCV centre in Leeds (Yorkshire) and our Mega Centres at Donington Park (East Midlands) and Wakefield (Yorkshire).

We bring together a range of remarketing services, physical and online, that provides a flexible, personal approach. We continually invest in our personnel, facilities, IT infrastructure and services to provide our customers with a range of complementary products and routes to market.

We sell vehicles for customers including leasing and finance companies, franchised dealerships and car supermarkets. All of our sales are open to both trade and private buyers.

Meet the team

Greg MacLeod

Executive Chairman

Greg joined Aston Barclay in September 2019, taking on the role of Executive Chairman between January 2020 to February 2022, and again in May 2023 to provide continuity for shareholders and employees. Greg continues to work closely with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to deliver on our committed Group Objectives. Recent changes to our ways of working have formed a solid business foundation, with a strong leadership team, clear product positioning and robust governance and reporting processes all of which have set the Group up for the next phase of its growth.


Eddie Thomson

Chief Operations Officer

Eddie Thomson brings a wealth of industry experience to Aston Barclay. His previous roles include National Operations Director for SMA, Sales and Operations Director for BCA, and most recently Head of Business Development for Adesa. In the newly created role of Chief Operations Officer, Eddie will be part of the Executive Leadership Team at Aston Barclay Group and will oversee all of Aston Barclay’s auction operations, as well as strategic projects.


Gordon Inglis

Chief Revenue Officer

Gordon joins Aston Barclay from Carwow where he has spent the past four and a half years, most recently as Principal Head of Sales. Prior to that Gordon spent 8 years at BCA focusing on growing dealer business in the north of the UK. As Chief Revenue Officer, Gordon will leverage his impressive track record of revenue generation and excellent industry relationships to generate UK-wide new business by winning new buyers, vendors and helping to grow revenue at Aston Barclay.


Nick Thompson

Chief Customer Officer

Nick brings over 10 years’ experience in the remarketing sector, starting as a Business Development Manager for Scottish Motor Auctions. Since then, he has held a range of roles including National Account Manager, Head of Corporate Sales, Head of New Business, Head of Sales and Director of Sales. Working in a variety of roles has strengthened his knowledge of the industry and helped him gain vital experience in becoming a successful Sales Director. Nick has worked for Aston Barclay previously and is returning with new experience from his recent posting with G3 Remarketing.


Pria Khot

Chief Financial Officer

Pria is an integral part of Aston Barclay since joining in 2020, playing a pivotal role in leading the business through the Covid-19 pandemic.  Pria’s exceptional performance and dedication have been acknowledged by a recent nomination for the prestigious Northern Finance Director Awards.  Prior to Aston Barclay, Pria garnered valuable experience mainly in the automotive industry and has led various change management initiatives and acquisitions to deliver optimum returns for business stakeholders.  Pria leverages her wealth of knowledge and skills to ensure that Aston Barclay has resilient foundations and a strong platform for future growth.


Sean Russell

Chief Marketing Officer

Sean joined in May 2023 and has over 15 years' experience in B2B and B2C marketing. He is passionate about building and growing marketing teams and capability. Starting as a digital marketing specialist within financial services, Sean recently spent 8 years at Costcutter Group as Marketing and Communications Director and achieved double digit growth in store footfall and profitability. Sean is focused on using data to grow and engage our buyer base, as well as further enhancing the Aston Barclay brand.


Stephanie Sulston

Chief People Officer

Steph is an experienced HR professional with over 11 years of experience in supporting retail and industrial service sectors. In her recent roles, Steph implemented an HR shared service function providing support and guidance to a UK workforce of circa 6,500 employees, as well as establishing and embedding an HR business partner model into two companies. Steph joined Aston Barclay in January 2019 to lead our HR function, develop support for our team and to assist in the overarching objectives of the business.


Gordon Cockle

Chief Remarketing Officer

Gordon has been with Aston Barclay since 2017, initially starting as Auctioneer Manager before progressing to Head of Remarketing to Director of Remarketing, and now to the Chief Remarketing Officer, overseeing conversion. Previous to this, he worked for Manheim for 13 years, holding a number of roles across the South West including Head of Buyer Services. Gordon oversees our buyer services team, who will work to enhance the buyer experience across the business, driving conversions through the use of data segmentation and industry relationships.


Craig Bettney

Director Of Commercial Finance

Craig joined the Aston Barclay leadership team in 2022 to bolster commercial finance capabilities across the group; taking responsibility for leading the finance strategy for The Car Buying Group and being finance lead on several group projects. He has a strong background in business partnering and analysis, having previously held a number of key roles at Asda which included providing commercial modelling on the trial and rapid expansion of Asda’s convenience store strategy. Prior to this, Craig qualified as a Charted Accountant with PwC during which time he advised clients on strategic decision making including Mergers & Acquisitions.


James Branton

Director of Digital Product Development

Co-Founder of The Car Buying Group and the Director of Digital Product Development at Aston Barclay Group. With over 15 years in digital product development, James has been privileged to lead in both engineering and commercial executive roles. At The Car Buying Group, James led the creation of cutting-edge systems & algorithms which power its consumer-facing products. James has also been instrumental in building the strategic commercial relationships which have positioned The Car Buying Group uniquely in the market, bridging the gap between established consumer brands and agile digital disruptors. In his current role at Aston Barclay Group, James is dedicated to developing industry-leading digital products, ensuring that Aston Barclay deliver top-tier technical solutions for it's valued customers.


Ian Gordon

Head of Logistics

Ian joined Aston Barclay in July 2023 after an established career, spanning over 20 years', in the Logistics industry. Formally head of Logistics for companies such as Next plc, Wren Kitchens, and latterly Motorpoint PLC. Ian joins us with an extensive knowledge of the Transport and Logistics industry. Ian has been onboarded to transform Aston Barclay's Logistics operation focusing on customer service, sustainability and efficiency.


Anthony Mills

Head of HSEQ & Compliance

Anthony joined Aston Barclay in 2021 as the Head of HSEQ & Compliance. Anthony worked in the construction industry as a SEQ Manager for nearly 10 years, before joining the people team at Aston Barclay. You will find Anthony traveling around the UK to all the six centres ensuring we meet all our health and safety requirements. Anthony has led his team at Aston Barclay to help achieve our BSI accreditations, such as ISO14001 and ISO45001 in 2023. Anthony is constantly exceeding expectations proven by winning the Extra Mile award, voted for by his colleagues.
