As more drivers continue to embrace cleaner, more efficient vehicles, EVs are proving that sustainability can be achieved with performance, design, and everyday practicality. From compact city cars to spacious estates and SUVs, here’s a closer look at the top 10 best-selling electric and hybrid vehicles at Aston Barclay auctions.  

10. MG4 Hatchback (Electric) 

In 10th place this month, we have a new entry from MG Motors. The MG4 EV is a fully electric hatchback known for offering strong value, combining a practical 5-door design with a range of around 218–338 miles depending on the battery. It’s also surprisingly fun to drive and well-equipped for the price, making it one of the most popular affordable EVs in the UK. 

9. Renault Zoe Hatchback (Electric) 

In 9th place, we have the Renault Zoe Hatchback, a fully electric model. The Renault Zoe Hatchback is a compact, fully electric supermini known for its affordability, ease of driving, and strong suitability for urban use, with a practical 5-door layout and around 338 litres of boot space. It offers a real-world range of roughly 150–245 miles, depending on conditions and battery version, making it a solid choice for everyday commuting and short-to-medium journeys. 

8. Volkswagen ID.3 Hatchback (Electric) 

Back on our leaderboard this month is the Volkswagen ID.3 Hatchback in at 8th place. The Volkswagen ID.3 is a fully electric hatchback designed for everyday use, offering a range of roughly 240–370 miles depending on the battery size and strong practicality with a spacious interior. It combines smooth, quiet performance with modern tech, making it a popular all-rounder for drivers switching to electric. 

7. Mercedes-Benz EQC Estate (Electric) 

In 7th place is the Mercedes-Benz EQC Estate, a fully electric model. The Mercedes-Benz EQC is a premium all-electric SUV that combines strong performance with a smooth, quiet drive and a high-quality, tech-filled interior. As Mercedes’ first mainstream EV, it offers around 240–260 miles of range and impressive comfort, though newer rivals now deliver longer range and more advanced efficiency. 

6. Nissan Leaf Hatchback (Electric) 

Staying in 6th place is the Nissan Leaf hatchback. A pioneering all-electric family car that blends practicality with efficiency, offering a choice of battery sizes with up to around 386 miles of range on the largest pack and rapid charging capabilities that make it suitable for both city and longer trips. 

5. Audi Q4 E-Tron Estate (Electric) 

Moving up this month to 5th place is the Audi Q4 e-tron Estate. Audi’s fully electric estate-bodied electric vehicle offering a practical blend of spacious design and zero-emissions driving, with seating for five and a generous boot space that suits everyday family use. It features an all-electric powertrain with a battery around 63–82 kWh and a real-world range suitable for daily and longer trips, alongside modern tech and comfort features typical of Audi’s premium EV lineup. 

4. Polestar 2 Fastback (Electric) 

Polestar climbs up the leaderboard again in 4th place. The Polestar 2 is a fully electric premium fastback that blends sleek, coupe-like styling with practical five-door usability, positioned as a rival to cars like the Tesla Model 3. It offers a range of powertrains from efficient single-motor versions to high-performance dual-motor models with up to 400+ bhp and 0–60 mph times of about 4 seconds, alongside a minimalist, tech-focused interior. 

3. Nissan Qashqai Hatchback (Hybrid Electric) 

Staying in 1st place this month is the popular Hybrid model from Nissan, the Qashqai Hatchback, knocking Tesla off the top spot for the first time in our leaderboard series. The Nissan Qashqai Hatchback (Hybrid) features Nissan’s unique e-POWER system, where a petrol engine generates electricity for an electric motor that drives the wheels, giving it an electric-car feel with hybrid convenience. 

2. Tesla Model Y Hatchback (Electric) 

Electric powerhouse Tesla is back in 2nd place, with the popular Tesla Model Y Hatchback. We’ve seen this model multiple times in our EV leaderboard, and it's not going anywhere. The Tesla Model Y Hatchback is a versatile all-electric SUV that blends hatchback practicality with crossover space and Tesla’s signature tech. With WLTP-rated ranges up to around 387 miles, rapid charging capability, and a sleek, minimalist interior anchored by a 15.4″ centre touchscreen, it’s designed for both everyday usability and long-distance performance. 

1. Tesla Model 3 Saloon (Electric) 

Selling the most vehicles this month at Aston Barclay is Tesla with the Tesla Model 3 Saloon, fully electric, claiming the top spot in 1st place! The Tesla Model 3 is a sleek all-electric saloon offering both high performance and impressive efficiency. With WLTP-rated ranges of up to about 410 miles and some variants sprinting from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds, it delivers strong everyday usability and thrilling acceleration.
