Project Manager

Location: Wakefield

We have a exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our busy team based in Normanton, Wakefield. This role reports to the Head of Projects.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Provide end-end project management across simultaneous projects.
  • Deliver projects on time, in full, and within budget.
  • Lead and coach project team members throughout project life cycles.
  • Be the central point of contact for key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Produce reports on performance of projects against plan.

Duties Include:

  • Create, maintain, and communicate detailed and organised project plans that document delivery milestones, decisions, and risks.
  • Execute strategic project plans in line with project objectives.
  • Identify resources required for successful completion of projects.
  • Coordinate internal resources and allocation of third parties or suppliers for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Plan, schedule and mange project calendars, meeting invites and key milestones.
  • Plan and facilitate all project related meetings.
  • Document minutes from project meetings, circulate actions and oversee matters arising.
  • Summarise key items raised from meetings, issuing a brief of actions and those responsible for each task.
  • Attend sites to assess progress and ensure smooth completion when required.
  • Communicate any key threats which could compromise completion of projects and present mitigation options for discussion and decision
  • Use appropriate techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs and in alignment with the Aston Barclay governance framework
  • Determine, monitor, analyse and control project costs and outcomes to ensure they meet financial objectives.
  • Accurately report throughout the project, monitoring progress against plan and recommending corrective actions.
  • Build strong relationships and actively collaborate across functions to support the achievement of objectives.
  • Provide a detailed overview of the project, including timelines, internal and external stakeholders, threats, and opportunities.
  • Utilise colleague’s industry knowledge to assist in successful completion of projects.
  • Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria.
  • Act as internal conduit between teams.
  • Assign tasks and provide direction with regard to timeliness and completion of project objectives.
  • Proactively monitor and report on project progress, resolving any potential issues quickly and effectively.
  • Create informative progress reports and actions that can be shared externally if required.
  • Create and maintain all project documentation and project plans.

Skills/Experience:

  • PRINCE2 practitioner, project management professional or equivalent.
  • Strong experience in all aspects of Project Management.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing projects simultaneously and delivering business benefit.
  • Ability to engage with all stakeholders upto and including board level.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • UK Driving license
  • Experience & knowledge of SDLC / Agile delivery practices
  • Experience & knowledge of Business Improvement / Continuous Improvement methodologies

40 hour per week, Monday to Friday.
