First Line IT Support Engineer

We are looking for a full time First Line IT Support Engineer to join our busy IT team based at Normanton.
You will provide IT Support to all Aton Barclay users, there will be daily tasks as well as problem solving different issues each day. You will be liaising regularly with users, working closely with fellow team members and organising your workload effectively to provide a slick and efficient experience for our users.
Aston Barclay operate in a mostly Microsoft Windows environment, but cover anything from Desktop Support, Basic Networking and Software Installation, to Audio/Visual equipment and mobile device management. You will also need working knowledge of basic server functions such as Active Directory and Group Policy.
Duties include:
- Provide 1st line support for all Aston Barclay users, serving as the first point of contact for IT support within the organisation
- Responding to support requests in a timely manner and through to resolution
- Installing, configuring and maintaining software and hardware components of computer and network systems
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues
- Escalating client-related or high priority technical issues with senior staff or management when necessary
- Building new computers and installing operating systems and specialist software
- Management of O365 license allocation and other software licenses
- Setting up and servicing peripheral equipment, such as monitors, docking stations, and printers.
- Daily monitoring of infrastructure, backups and security
- Assisting the IT Service Delivery Team with projects and other work
- Maintaining and updating technical documentation regularly
- Assisting second line engineers with routine tasks, such as monitoring server backups and anti-virus updates
- Documenting internal procedures and maintaining daily performance of computer systems
- Providing a Knowledge Base of common issues to users to help them to troubleshoot and self-serve in the future.
- Providing Second Line cover for periods of annual leave or illness.
Skills/Experience:
- Proven ICT Skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience in an IT Support / Service Desk role
- Active Directory
- O365
Desirable but not essential
- Experience in an ITIL environment
- Jira Service Management
- Motor Auction Trade Industry knowledge
Monday to Friday, 08.30am - 5.30pm, 40 hours per week.
