Group Logistics Driver Trainer & Compliance Manager

We have a exciting opportunity for a Driver Trainer & Compliance Manager to join the Logistics Team. The role reports to the Head of Logistics.
Principle Responsibilities Include:
- Ensure all driver teams are effectively trained to a high standard.
- Take responsibility for Health and Safety legislation compliance for the function.
- Undertake effective management of transport maintenance costs.
- Manage maintenance and compliance contractor relationships.
- Ensure that exceptional levels of customer service are delivered throughout the function by ensuring a serviceable and cost-effective fleet.
- Take responsibility for ensuring the company OCR score is green.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance.
Duties Include:
- Deliver relevant training to drivers where required.
- Work with HR & HSEQ team to organise any external transport training which may be required.
- Work with HR & HSEQ to launch the roll out of any new transport related training strategies and processes.
- Ensure subcontract drivers and briefed on any relevant process changes and remain compliant at all times.
- Ensure all training is delivered within budget.
- Maintain compliance with the Operator Licensing requirements through effective auditing.
- Support HGV and pool car maintenance including booking of any required repairs/maintenance etc. for all sites.
- Ensure all HGV’s are road worthy and are maintained in accordance with legislation.
- Oversee that the Company tyre policy is adhered to and that vehicles always operate legally.
- Ensure that legislation regarding driver hours and tachographs is always adhered to.
- Ensure all relevant vehicle and driver documentation is obtained and filed appropriately and correctly.
- Work with HSEQ to process vehicle insurance claims as applicable.
- Take ownership of defects and corrective measures.
- Assist in maintaining and/or achieving relevant transport accreditation including ISO.
- Ensure all driver training is complete and in date including transporter training and IHASCO.
- Lead on any transport related accident/incident investigations with the support of relevant parties such as HSEQ.
- Take responsibility for ensuring the company OCR score is green.
- Provide regular reporting of all costs and progress against targets.
- Maintain control over contractor utilisation and minimise costs of external resources.
- Manage maintenance and compliance contractor relationships.
- Ensure that exceptional levels of customer service are delivered throughout the function by ensuring a serviceable and cost-effective fleet.
Skills/Experience:
- CPC holder.
- Driver training accreditation.
- Knowledge of Operator Licensing requirements and legalisation.
- Established experience in effective problem solving and decision making.
- Experienced in change management.
- Ability to manage, coach, mentor and develop people.
- Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
- Experience of producing high quality information to deadlines.
- Proven experience of delivering exceptional service to customers both personally and through a team
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
