Chief Executive Officer
Managing Director - Auctions
Having worked in the auction industry for over 21 years, starting as a new business executive for NCA Group and rising to sales manager of a 6 centre company, Martin was employed as general manager of the largest auction centre in Europe with over 50 acres and turnover in excess of 70,000 units per annum after a takeover by a major auction company. Martin then held the position of corporate sales director for 9 years in charge of a team of sales personnel specialising in the finance, leasing and large outright purchase fleets. Martin joined Aston Barclay in November 2011 to run our Chelmsford operation.
Group IT Director
Stewart left University with a degree in computer science which he has leveraged in his 25 years working in the Automotive IT arena. He has worked his way through the various IT disciplines of service delivery, development, testing and project management resulting in becoming Director of IT for the major Vehicle Data supplier in the UK where his passion was combining data quality with disruptive products. Stewart joined Aston Barclay in March 2017 as Group IT Director.
Chief Finance Officer & Commercial Director
John joined Aston Barclay in January 2018 having spent six years with one of the UK’s leading judicial service providers. He has a wealth of experience in the finance sector having spent 25 years working in customer facing businesses in the UK, US and Middle East. Focusing on ensuring that finance adds value to the operational and commercial functions of the business, John will also lead on the group’s expansion programme.
Managing Director - Operations
Justin started in the Auction Industry in 1985 as a Trainee Motor Auctioneer, followed by a variety of roles within the industry, and also several Dealership Groups and Contract Hire positions. Justin has also been Chairman of the National association of Motor Auctions (NAMA) on two separate occasions. Overseeing our operational business, Justin ensures that our clients continue to receive leading levels of care whilst helping to craft our future products and services.
Steph is an experienced HR professional with over 11 years of experience in supporting retail and industrial service sectors. In her recent roles, Steph implemented an HR shared service function providing support and guidance to a UK workforce of circa 6,500 employees, as well as establishing and embedding an HR business partner model into two companies. Steph joined Aston Barclay in January 2019 to lead our HR function, develop support for our team and to assist in the overarching objectives of the business.

Tom began his career as operations & marketing manager for an online B2B networking site, connecting business owners to opportunities and helping them to succeed. Tom’s role enabled him to gain valuable insight into digital marketing, marketing strategy, face to face networking, event management and magazine publishing, including writing and creative design as an Adobe Certified Associate. Tom joined Aston Barclay in 2011 as PA and marketing assistant to the commercial director and has since seen his role develop to encompass PR and marketing for our group, directing our branding and communications strategy whilst playing an active role in developing our service portfolio.
Group Buyer Services Manager
Caring for our buyers and ensuring that they can easily source stock in the best environments and via the best channels is at the heart of our mission. Our Buyer Services Team headed by Zoe actively support all our buyers, from national groups and supermarkets, to owner operator traders, ensuring that the whole industry benefits from the leading independent.
Head of Corporate Sales
Nick joined our team in November 2017 to head our corporate and OEM new business sales function. He has over 8 years’ experience in the auction industry starting with Franchised Dealer Sales before progressing to handle large corporate and OEM accounts for one of the world’s largest online remarketing providers. Nick has recently furthered his career within Aston Barclay and taken the role of Head of Corporate Sales, heading up Core Accounts and New Business.
