From compact city cars to spacious estates and SUVs, here’s a closer look at the top 10 best-selling electric and hybrid vehicles this month at our auctions here at Aston Barclay. 

10. Volkswagen ID.3 Hatchback (Electric)

In 10th place this month is the Volkswagen ID.3 Hatchback. The Volkswagen ID.3 is a fully electric compact hatchback that offers a practical, everyday driving experience with WLTP ranges typically between about 240–370 miles depending on battery size and trim. It combines a spacious, modern interior with smooth electric performance and advanced tech features, making it a strong choice in the mainstream EV hatch segment.

9. Mercedes-Benz EQC Estate (Electric)

Staying in 9th place this December is the Mercedes-Benz EQC Estate. The Mercedes-Benz EQC Estate is a premium all-electric SUV that blends luxury, performance, and advanced technology. Powered by dual electric motors producing 402 bhp, it delivers smooth, silent acceleration and up to 255 miles of range. Inside, the EQC offers a refined, high-tech cabin featuring the MBUX infotainment system, intelligent driver aids, and the comfort and quality ty you’d expect from Mercedes-Benz. 

8. Peugeot E-2008 Electric Estate (Electric)

Back on our leaderboard is the Peugeot E-2008 Electric Estate in 8th place. The Peugeot E‑2008 is a compact all‑electric SUV, with a stylish design and practical everyday performance, offering up to around 247 miles of WLTP range and rapid charging capability, which takes the battery from 20 % to 80 % in 30 minutes using a high‑power charger. It features a modern interior with Peugeot’s i‑Cockpit, responsive electric torque and zero‑emission driving, making it a versatile choice for urban and family use.

7. Cupra Born Electric Hatchback (Electric)

Not moving for the following month and back in 7th place is the Cupra Born Electric Hatchback. The Cupra Born is a sharply styled electric hatchback that combines sporty design with everyday usability. With up to approximately 265 miles of WLTP range in its standard form, and punchy performance variants capable of quicker sprints, it’s a lively and practical choice for drivers who desire EV energy and hatchback convenience. 

6. Volkswagen ID.4 Estate (Electric)

Back on our leaderboard this month is the Volkswagen ID.4 Estate in 6th place. The Volkswagen ID.4 is a fully electric compact SUV with practicality, modern technology and zero‑emission driving, with WLTP ranges of up to around 350 miles depending on battery size and trim. It pairs spacious interior and cargo capacity with smooth electric performance, making it a strong family‑friendly EV choice in the mainstream electric SUV segment.

5. Renault Zoe Hatchback (Electric)

A new entry this month in 5th place is the Renault Zoe, a popular all‑electric five‑door hatchback that has long been a key player in Europe’s compact EV market, known for its efficiency, practicality and city‑friendly size. Powered by a 52 kWh battery, recent versions deliver up to 245 miles of WLTP‑rated range, with fast charging capability and everyday usability for urban and suburban driving. It offers a comfortable interior with modern tech and connected features, along with responsive electric performance that makes it ideal for daily commuting and short‑to‑medium trips.

4. Tesla Model Y Hatchback (Electric)

In 4th place this month is the Tesla Model Y Hatchback. We’ve seen this model multiple times in our EV leaderboard. The Tesla Model Y Hatchback is a versatile all-electric SUV that blends hatchback practicality with crossover space and Tesla’s signature tech. With WLTP-rated ranges up to around 387 miles, rapid charging capability, and a sleek, minimalist interior anchored by a 15.4″ centre touchscreen, it’s designed for both everyday usability and long-distance performance. 

3. Nissan Leaf Hatchback (Electric)

In third place to round off 2026 is the popular Nissan Leaf Hatchback. As one of the original mass-market EVs, the Nissan Leaf continues to shine in 2025. Affordable, practical, and easy to drive, it appeals to drivers looking for a simple, no-fuss electric car. Its zero-emission powertrain and intuitive features make it a popular choice for everyday commuting, with the added benefit of lower running costs compared to conventional vehicles.

2. Tesla Model 3 Saloon (Electric)

In second place is Tesla’s powerhouse model, the 3 Saloon, fully electric! The Tesla Model 3 is a sleek all-electric saloon offering both high performance and impressive efficiency. With WLTP-rated ranges of up to about 410 miles and some variants sprinting from 0-60 mph in just 4.2 seconds, it delivers strong everyday usability and thrilling acceleration.  

1. Nissan Qashqai Hatchback (Hybrid Electric)

Knocking Tesla off the 1st place for the end of 2025 is the popular Hybrid model from Nissan, the Qashqai Hatchback. The Nissan Qashqai Hatchback (Hybrid) features Nissan’s unique e-POWER system, where a petrol engine generates electricity for an electric motor that drives the wheels, giving it an electric-car feel with hybrid convenience.
