Aston Barclay's car auction has been a fixture in the town since the 1960's. As well as a car auction centre it is also the location of Aston Barclay Group's Headquarters.
The 12 acre site, situated on Junction 19 of the A12, is within easy reach of London, the South-East and East Anglia and is three miles from Chelmsford train station on the main line to London.
The centre benefits from free customer parking, full valet facilities, cafe, smart repair technicians, comprehensive transport and delivery services and a team of staff dedicated to making the vehicle auction process simple, rewarding and profitable.
Aston Barclay Chelmsford holds four regular sales per week and numerous special sales in its specially built state of the art twin glazed auction halls opened in 2011.

Having worked in the Auction industry for over 21 years, starting as a new business executive for NCA Group and rising to Sales Manager of a 6 centre company, Martin was employed as General Manager of the largest auction centre in Europe with over 50 acres and turnover in excess of 70,000 units per annum after a takeover by a major auction company. Martin then held the position of Corporate Sales Director for 9 years in charge of a team of sales personnel specialising in the Finance, Leasing and large outright purchase fleets. Martin joined Aston Barclay in November 2011 to run our Chelmsford operation.
Adrian has a wealth of experience with over 20 years within the auction industry at Aston Barclay Chelmsford. Adrian's career has developed within the organisation originally working in the fleet department, progressing to Operations Manager and his current position of Centre Manager.
Helen has worked for Aston Barclay for over 20 years. During that time she has gained extensive experience in carrying out a number of roles including sale day driver, HGV driver, Yard Manager and Assistant Transport Manager, progressing to her current role of Operations and Transport Manager. Helen is responsible for Health and Safety and holds the Nebosh Diploma qualification. She is also studying towards a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
James began his career within the auction industry over 22 years ago, firstly with a major auction company as a yard supervisor progressing to a manager within the distributor & fleet departments and finally taking up the role of Auctioneer. He joined Aston Barclay in the late 1990's where he has developed his role as Auctioneer and Fleet and Distributor Account Manager.
Aston Barclay obtained ISO 9001:2008 successfully in 2012 for Chelmsford, Westbury and Prees Heath and obtained accreditation for Leeds in 2013.
